Hepatitis A is a highly contagious but largely preventable virus that attacks, inflames and impairs the liver. Sadly there’s no cure so prevention is key. Practice and encourage others to perform good hand washing especially after using the bathroom and before cooking, practice good body hygiene and get the Hepatitis A vaccine. This virus is spread through ingesting food and water contaminated with feces infected with the virus. Only eat where food is properly cleaned and cooked and only drink clean & safe water. Also make sure to clean frequently touched surfaces (e.g. everything involved with preparing and serving food, toilet seats, door handles) with warm soapy water and/or bleach chemicals to remove/kill the virus.
